Music should be accessible to everyone: With this goal, cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason performs not only in the world´s leading concert venues but also in underground clubs and school auditoriums. In the 2025/26 season, he is Artist in Residence with the New York Philharmonic and performs with the Orchestre de Paris, the London Philharmonic, as well as the Baltimore, Vienna, and Sydney symphony orchestras. Additionally, he tours across Europe and North America with artists such as Isata, Braimah, and Jeneba Kanneh-Mason, as well as Tai Murray. He also gives the word premiére of Edmund Finnis’s cello concerto, which was written for him, with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and Roberto González-Monjas. Sheku Kanneh-Mason showcases his innately lyrical playing in recordings like »Shostakovich & Britten« and in his albums »Song« and »Elgar«, the latter of which reached the Top 10 of the British album charts. Sheku Kanneh-Mason is a graduate of London´s Royal Academy of Music, where he was appointed in 2022 as the Academy´s first Menuhin Visiting Professor of Performance Mentoring.
