The career of the Italian baritone Luca Salsi has taken him to the world’s most prestigious stages: the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the Washington National Opera, the Royal Opera House in London, the Berlin State Opera, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, and many other renowned opera houses. He has worked under the batons of conductors including Gustavo Dudamel, Valery Gergiev, Riccardo Chailly, and Zubin Mehta. He has twice opened the season at Teatro alla Scala in Milan alongside Anna Netrebko. He made his debut as Jago in Verdi’s »Otello« with the Berlin Philharmonic and sang Macbeth in Verdi’s opera of the same name under the direction of Riccardo Muti in Florence and Ravenna. His extensive repertoire includes roles such as Rodrigo in Verdi’s »Don Carlos«, Germont in »La Traviata«, Scarpia in Puccini’s »Tosca«, as well as the title role in Verdi’s »Nabucco«. Luca Salsi is also a welcome guest at major international festivals, including the Salzburg Festival and the Arena di Verona Opera Festival.
